North Carolina Outlaws Free Thought

A new bill was introduced today in the North Carolina senate to outlaw the human thought process. This bill was in response to the recent “Moral Monday” protests that have caused havoc in the state house.

With the recent changes that have occurred in which party is controlling the North Carolina house, senate, and governors mansion (really a double wide), the Republican party has sought to pass laws that they were unable to get past the reasonable minds in the past majorities. Read the full story

Corporations Broker Historic Repub/Dem Compromise to Boost U.S. Economy

As unlikely as it may seem in the throes of an increasingly vicious national election, U.S. Republicans and Democrats appear to be in agreement on providing a major stimulant to the economy – the elections themselves.

Now that corporations are properly recognized as people and money as free speech, the coffers of both parties are filled to overflowing.

I was having a drink with a corporation the other day, and she explained (Disclosure: I had left my free speech in my other purse, so she paid the bill). “Our new ability to spend as much as we want to buy elections means that this can be a major source of economic activity.” Read the full story

Notes On Tolerance — Welcome to Reality

It happened recently, after a long day of free-speech-practicing, that I had occasion to give advice to a person much younger than myself regarding language. This young person, though potentially very bright, was experiencing some confusion over the ubiquity of certain charged words in the media.

It upset her that persons said to be well-educated were so tolerant of words and phrases she deemed offensive. Read the full story

Comedy Central Censors Own Press Release About South Park Censoring

Dothan, Al (GlossyNews) — After a week of controversy surrounding the censorship of an episode of the animated series South Park for mentioning the Prophet Muhammad, Comedy Central announced today it would also be censoring it’s own press release on the subject.  A spokesman for Comedy Central said they received another veiled threat from the Islamic group Revolution Muslim about the press release because it had, just like the show, referenced the prophet by name.

Comedy Central responded to the threat by re-releasing the original press release with all the sections referring to Muhammad redacted. Executives at Comedy Central say they were doing what they felt was in the best interest of their employees safety. Read the full story

Zamfir Cell Phone Virus Threatens United States

Zamfir, the first in-the-wild mobile phone virus discovered in the United States, is set to wreak havoc on the lives of teen-agers, SUV drivers, and text-messaging office workers across the land. UK Freedom of Speech Suspended

A leading UK gutter press tabloid, the Daily Shitraker, has been barred from reporting parliamentary proceedings on legal grounds which appear to call into question privileges guaranteeing free speech established under the centuries-old 1688 Bill of Rights.
