Read This! Ways You Can Help Glossy News Expand, as We Roll Out Our Rewards & Incentives Scheme (Part 1)

Tomorrow, March 1 onwards, we’re rolling out our Rewards and Incentives Scheme.

If you are a current writer (or soon-to-be writer!), then please remember that the sum of money available each month is contingent upon the success of the site.

As the sub-editor, I recently persuaded our boss, Brian, to release $50 a month, split between everyone who is eligible to opt in; which is nearly everyone!

This was mentioned in a recent article.

But I will not be able to persuade Brian to revise this further, until we see enough progress in our stats, including but not limited to, our revenue.

Ultimately, I cannot pay out of pocket, in order to boost the site: my own current income from all earnings, from all my small self-employment gigs of various kinds, is often insufficient for my basic needs of between £3oo to £500 a month (hence my Patreon).

So the more you all can do to help the site as a whole, the better our hope of overall progress.

This is the first article on what you can do. There will be more than one article; once you’ve seen this, please remember to share below!

Tell, Tell, Tell!

First of all, word of mouth is always a big thing.

Sometimes this means in person: whether it be friends, family, colleagues; even fleeting acquaintances, if appropriate.

Tell them about the site, about something funny you’ve found. Tell them about a good experience you’ve had, if you’ve written for us in the past; or about something you’d like to bring to the table, if you’ve never written for us before.

Aside from in person, there are obviously other ways and means: email, social media, phone, text messages, apps, or anything else you can think of!

Obviously, you don’t need to be talking about Glossy News 24/7 and boring people…

But you can decide for yourself where the boundaries are!

A second point is Facebook likes and shares.

We recently hit a small milestone, but we have a looooooooong way to go.

So, please don’t forget to click on this link, and like the page; hell, even a follow is helpful!

But likes are obviously best.

Also, if you look next to the ‘Like’ button at the top of the page, there’s a ‘Following’ button too.

Hover your mouse over it, and you will see the following options for ‘In Your Newsfeed:’

See first

Default

Unfollow

(Hope you like the nice grimy distortion effects!)

These, I will now explain as follows:

See First

The first of these will give Glossy News article high priority in your feed! The more people do this, the more likely it is that we’ll get more interactions: e.g. See First, Default and Unfollow.

Default

The second one is a middle ground between ‘See First’ and ‘Unfollow.’ You’ll probably see some posts, but not necessarily as many as if you had chosen ‘See First.’

Unfollow

If you’re allergic to satire, you might just click Unfollow.’

But then again, if that were so, you probably wouldn’t have read this far by now anyway! Ha ha!

Find out more in the next instalment…

When an old friend pops up once more!

In the meantime, please take the time to share this! It’s taken me HOURS to fulfil my Glossy News responsibilities today, so I hope y’all will reward me well!
