Secret Service Investigate Florida ‘Orange Julius’ Mall Riot

(Part 2 of 3)

Central, Fl- Federal authorities, including members of the FBI and the Secret Service, have apparently joined the laundry list of law enforcement agencies investigating a riot that took place at the Sunset Mall Friday evening.

Early Sunday morning a caravan of six unmarked SUV’s were spotted entering the mall parking lot, which at the time of this article’s publishing, remains off limits to the public.

Local authorities have round up at least a dozen suspects, including one man, Wilmont Clemmons, whom eyewitnesses say, was the chief instigator in a rampage that resulted in the destruction of an Orange Julius kiosk, and led to the hospitalization of at least twenty people.

Why Federal authorities have joined the investigation remains unknown. When questioned on the matter, FBI spokesperson Dana Parn-Maestras told reporters, “After reviewing security footage and interviewing a number of suspects, it was determined by local authorities that we should be brought in. There may be matters of national security involved here.”

When pressed on reports that the Secret Service was also joining the investigation, Parn-Maestras promptly ended the interview.

Central Police were vague on the subject of Secret Service involvement, when asked. “We have accepted requests from numerous law enforcement agencies, to share any information we have regarding this terrible incident. The people of Central county were the victims of something we have not seen the likes of before. They deserve justice. We will do whatever it takes to get to the bottom of this. We will use every available resource,” CPD Chief Allen Ailes told reporters from the steps outside CPD headquarters. When asked whether or not the Secret Service would be one such resource, Ailes simply responded, “many agencies are involved.”

Though many questions as to what exactly happened on Friday night remain unanswered, this reporter can’t help but wonder… why are authorities being so secretive, about the Secret Service?
