Colbert Snubbed Unpopular Obama in Series Finale

In the series finale of The Colbert Report, dozens of musical, political, film and other celebrities made an appearance… Obama participated, but was cut from the show.

Almost 50 guests appearead live on-stage during the prolonged, rousing rendition of “We’ll Meet Again” with the addition of a number of pre-recorded segments spliced in.

There was an astornaut on the C.O.L.B.E.R.T. treadmill on the International Space Station, president Bill Clinton, Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, Pussy Riot, and… Barack Obama?

Yes. Barack Obama. He just wasn’t in the final cut.

In a testament to his sinking approval ratings and the generally toxic nature of being associated, Barack Obama shot his karaoke moment, as you can see in this video below.

Call him a closet liberal all you want, but Colbert knows which side his bread is buttered on. As Dr. Seuss suggested, it’s an age old battle of butter-side up vs. butter-side down.

If the above video is deleted, please let me know so I can upload it again as part of a video news segment. Those are very difficult to take down.

  1. Stephen did show in DC the a few days before his final episode. Obama was his guest star and indeed read "The Word" segment. He was a big hit. I don't know why just a few days after this you'd think Stephen snubbed him. I'm guessing it must have had to do with editing; definitely something other than snubbing, since having him appear on his show at some length in DC was the antithesis of snubbing.
