Nevada Republican Senate Candidate Pimping Herself to the Media

RENO, Nevada (GlossyNews) — Sharron Angle, the Republican candidate running against Harry Reid for a Senate seat in November has an angle alright. She has come right out and told the media that she’s willing to show up on their show to talk about her campaign only if she can supply them with questions to ask her and only if she can openly ask for money for her campaign on the air.

“What’s wrong with that?” asked Angle when Fox News’ Carl Cameron raised his eyebrow at such a notion. She continued, “Hookers do it all the time. You don’t get laid until they get paid.”

Political pundits are having a heyday with the comments made by Angle. On the extreme far right, most are saying “Good for her. Finally, someone who’s not afraid of coming right out and asking for what she wants. She cuts through the crap so there is no question where she’s coming from. We need more honesty in the White House and Sharron Angle’s honesty is refreshing.” What we must keep in mind, however, is that these are the very same people who believe that laws should be enacted to force every American to carry a gun whether they want to or not, and if they don’t, they could be fined.

On the other side of the aisle, most liberals are embracing their own form of honesty in responding to Angle’s comments by say she is 100% certifiably batshit crazy. While not saying so directly to the public, liberals and progressives are implying that if Angle’s views are an indication of the direction the Tea Party is taking the GOP, then God help us all. We would assume that if they were to take Angle’s approach, a more direct comment to the media would be “Is Sharron Angle out of her fucking mind?”

Meanwhile, most Republicans are on the fence on this one. While they do feel the need to come up with some kind of direction for their party before the elections come November instead of being led down a path of destruction by the Tea Party, they aren’t quite sure the direct approach being taken by such mavericks as Angle and even Sarah Palin is going to help their cause much. Some feel that Angle can help the party image in an Eva Braun sort of way. Our money has it that for the time being, the Republican party will stay in their comfort zone talking in double speak, preserving the “good ole boy network” and collecting their campaign contributions under the table.
