Once, on the Liberal Democrats Facebook page, I said:
Liberalism is NOTHING if not intolerant.
In fact, ‘intolerance’ is one of our key virtues.
True liberals are intolerant of misogyny, homophobia, Scientology, conservative Islam, the Jehovah’s Witness cult, fascists, Trotskyists, climate change denialists.
Liberty CANNOT and WILL NOT be tolerant of servitude, superstition, and authoritarian brutality.
It is neither a negative thing nor a positive thing to be tolerant: absent of context.
There is nothing wrong with being intolerant or exclusionary, in itself.
