In the wake of the deadly Isis terrorist attacks on Paris which killed 129 people and wounded hundreds more, the issue of whether or not to continue taking in refugees has divided us here in the United States of America, home of the free, land of the brave.
On Fox News, Senator and Presidential hopeful Ted Cruz said, “President Obama and Hillary Clinton’s idea that we should bring tens of thousands of Syrian Muslim refugees to America—it is nothing less than lunacy. On the other hand Christians who are being targeted for genocide, for persecution, Christians who are being beheaded or crucified, we should be providing safe haven to them. But President Obama refuses to do that.”
Bravo to Senator Cruz for taking such a brave and unpopular stance on such a volatile issue!
He may not be winning many votes for his bigoted condemnations, at least not many votes that he didn’t already plan on getting. But someone has to wake up America so that we smell the C4.
Religious extremists are dangerous, plain and simple. They put America at risk. To willfully accept them into our country would be unwise and playing with fire. It’d be like if the Statue of Liberty wore a mini skirt into a brothel and pretended she won’t get what she’s asking for.
When attacked by the liberal media (aka CNN) about his own past because his father was a refugee, Cruz responded, “If my father were part of a theocratic and political movement like radical Islamism that promotes murdering anyone who doesn’t share your extreme faith or forcibly converting them, then it would have made perfect sense.”
Again, Cruz is spot on. Refugees and their future generations pose a significant risk to our free and open society. One needn’t look further than our own Senate for proof that refugees are dangerous factions that wish to destroy America.
Particularly, representing the great state of Texas, there’s a Senator named Ted Cruz who is the son of a refugee, Christian Pastor Rafael Cruz, a revolutionary who escaped the un-Christian regime of Cuban dictator Batista in 1957. The younger Cruz, who was actually born in Canada, is a prime example of why we shouldn’t be allowing refugees and their potential dangerous offspring into America’s borders. As a Senator, and wannabe President, Ted Cruz demonstrates this danger each and every day he goes to work (lucky for us, those days are few and far between).
When he does opt to earn his inflated paycheck, he spends the taxpayer’s dime on many a scurrilous thing, such as:
He opposes women’s access to birth control coverage through her employer. He’s also voted to not only defund Planned Parenthood, but he also promised to prosecute them on his very first day as President, for crimes which they have not even been charged with. In addition, he has voted to restrict a woman’s access to abortion procedures which have been legal in America for over 40 years. And he is an enemy of half of our nation’s population by voting against the renewal of the Violence Against Women Act.
This dangerous son of a refugee also opposes equal rights for all citizens, encouraging people in 46 states to betray the Supreme Court ruling allowing same sex marriages because he personally believes that men ought to only be legally allowed to marry women, and vice versa.
He claims to be pro-life, yet still supports state sanctioned murder in the form of capital punishment, and has even argued in favor of it before the Supreme Court (yes, the one he later told us we could ignore). He is Senator of a State that executes more people than they send to college. He has supported repealing the Affordable Care Act, which has provided health care to millions of Americans. He even sabotaged our own government in a failed attempt to defund the law that insures those who cannot otherwise afford to be insured.
The radical Cruz has also supported offshore drilling and opposed Cap and Trade, thereby becoming a vocal and active enemy of our nation’s rapidly declining environment. He has also promised to rip to shreds the Iran Nuclear Peace Deal, thereby threatening our country with a nuclear armed Iran.
When not aiding and abetting Big Oil (for whom he used to work), he spends his time spreading the Judeo-Christian propaganda that America was founded on religious principles. At the 2015 Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition, he said, “We need leaders who will stand unapologetically in defense of the Judeo-Christian values upon which America was built.”
Economically, Cruz is poses a threat to our American free market society. His proposed flat tax proposal leaves a $3.6 trillion shortfall to our budget over the next decade, according to the Tax Foundation. This shortfall would result in cuts to our social safety nets, as well as our military readiness to defend us from those Syrian refugees trying to break into our country.
If that were to happen, more refugees like Rafael Cruz might slip into our borders, and reproduce more Senator Cruzes, thereby threatening America even more greatly in the future. So please, America, listen to Ted Cruz when he says we shouldn’t allow radical extremist refugees into our land of the free, home of the brave. If only we could have taken his advice back in 1957!
