Tower of Pisa Collapses, Russian Tourists Smooshed

Tuscany, Italy – (SatireWorld.com) – The Italian government was dumbfounded after hearing reports that the famous Tower of Pisa fell. Long touted as an impossible building that had an accurate description attached to its name, the 183 foot tower fell with a loud crack and thud as crowds of sweaty tourists from Russia swelled around its base.

Completed in 1372 as a bell tower, the last large bell was installed later that year. Work commenced in 1132 with a foundation of clay and sand, but as builder Tommaso di Andrea Pisano was soon to find out, the tower had a distinct 5 degree list to one side.

Many blamed the builder and his physical aliment as the cause of the building’s unique tilt. It seems Pisano had an artificial leg carved from balsa wood that was considerably worn down from months on the construction site. His ‘list to port’ was a contributing factor in the building leaning to one side say Italian authorities who disclaimed any responsiblity.

The Russian government has requested that the Italian government bury the dead on the monument’s grounds in order to save the shipping costs of returning the remains to Minsk. According to consulate attache Boris Lobchenko, “Hey! They’re dead. They don’t care.”
