In a strange reversal of policy the NRA has demanded that the U.S. make a ban on drones very much like the ban on guns that they have so heatedly fought against in the past.
Speaking at a press conference NRA Fuhrer Wayne LaPierre has vehemently asserted that “Drones are dangerous! They are potential weapons of mass destruction! They should not be allowed in the wrong hands!”
The reasons for these outbursts and change in the direction of their “Constitutional Rights” is the rise in the number of incidents surrounding surveillance drones appearing at gun swaps, target practice fields and NRA supported outdoor events, Klan rallies and Hitler Youth meetings.
These instruments have been merely camera drones, although LaPierre maintains that several ‘mysterious’ explosions at gun meetings in remote areas have been blamed on armed drones.
“We just can’t have these things out on the loose all the time!” screeched LaPierre. “They can’t get into the hands of just anybody. God knows what destruction they could cause and what photographs they could take!”
When informed of this development, the gun control lobbyists just remained silent with big, self satisfied smiles on their faces. “What goes around comes around…” said one softly, his smile getting bigger.
A new organization, the NDA (National Drone Association) immediately retaliated with foul mouthed rhetoric about their Second Amendment rights and the rights of each citizen to bear drones. “You’ll have to pry the drone remote out of my cold, dead hands!” snipped one member.
“When our drones are stolen from us, only stealers will have drones!” quipped another. Already someone had printed up t-shirts showing a drone chasing people which were worn by many of the protesters.
Upon hearing this report Wayne LaPierre’s face went bright beet red and he suffered a brain hemorrhage.
Meanwhile the gun control people only smiled more.
