Gmail is a very popular email service; and learning how to use it is very important.
If you ever forget your password and get locked out, you need an up-to-date recovery phone number or email address.
Otherwise, it will be very hard to fix this problem.
It’s easy to forget about updating this information; but making sure Google has the correct info will save you a lot of headaches later.
Updating your personal details
Log in to Gmail.
Click on your photo avatar at the top right-hand side.
Then click on the blue box saying ‘My Account.’
At the top of the page, there is some text, including the words:
Control, protect, and secure your account, all in one place.
There are also three columns:
Sign-in and security
Personal info and privacy
Click on the first of these, on the left: Sign-in and security.
Scroll down to where it says
Password & sign-in method
Go down a little further and click on:
Re-enter your password when prompted.
You’ll then get a message saying:
“Your password was changed
Now take a minute to review your recovery info and security settings to make sure they are accurate and up-to-date
