Established, High-Karma Reddit Accounts Being Sold

Apparently your karma is worth more than you know. All those years of clicking and commenting on stories, maybe they’re actually worth something. One site has Reddit accounts for sale, and they’re not shy about it. says “We have a few Reddit accounts for sale. Yes, you can buy an existing Reddit account from us. They range in age from 1-4 years with total karma between 15,000 and 40,000.”

That’s a pretty bold claim. It takes most Redditors years of spending a few hours a day to accumulate that kind of karma, but apparently that’s exactly why it’s so valuable.

“If you’ve got a Reddit account with 15-20,000 karma points, and it’s [not a new, but an established account of] years old, there’s the potential to use it as a marketing account without being downblasted by users and disregarded on the system as some kind of newbie,” says ‘Derek’, at a leading internet marketing firm.

Looking around the web for background, it appears accounts like these are fairly uncommon, and far less common that they’re actually available for sale.

Research shows upvotes can cost as much as $1 per vote, while this site offers accounts with tens of thousands of karma points for as little as a few cents per upvote.

The average post on Reddit attracts just over zero karma, so accounts, especially older accounts, with tens of thousands of karma points are especially desireable, at least according to internet marketing experts.

So start saving your random fantasy imaginary points, kids, because some day they just might be worth a fraction of minimum wage!

You can apparently go here to buy these Reddit accounts.
