SANTA MONICA, CA – Although it’s been quite some time since we last saw Jack Black in a memorable Hollywood role, it doesn’t mean the popular actor, comedian, cat lover, producer and singer hasn’t kept busy.
Indeed, just this past weekend, Black was in the public eye attending the Furry Convention on the world-famous Santa Monica Pier, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Crazed maniacs dressed in animal-like costumes from all over the world attended the fuzzy-themed show that has been held annually since 1992, but Black had a special reason for being there, to announce his recent investment in the popular entertainment website – It’s A Cat, Just So You Know, Entertainment (www.itsacatentertainment.com).
Carrying around eye-catching drink coasters imprinted with the infamous logo created by one of the site’s co-founders, Pumpernickel Jones, Black flamboyantly displayed the liquid-repelling items made from 100% recycled Ryan Reynolds films to everyone in attendance.
“With the failure of his most recent projects such as the Kung Fur Panda franchise, Sex Tape and The Big Year, I think he just wanted to invest in something successful,” Convention attendee, Dave Steptenpoo, said following the 3-day event that attracted over 75 people from all over the world. “I was happy to reassure him of his wise investment with a furry bump on the bum,” Steptenpoo added as Black held up two colorfur coasters in front of a group posing for a photo.
The 47-year-old, who allegedly purchased 10% of the company for $18.35, is very excited about his partial ownership. “How can you not love these guys? Pumpernickel Jones? Breadsterastyx? Throw-Bread Thursdays? Either I’m going to be rich beyond my wildest dreams or up to my ears in cat feces,” Black stated at the event.
Black will team up with Jones and the company’s other co-owner, Pita Sourdough, to further develop media content and assist with all aspects of film production.
