Mubarak ‘Mummy Movie’ Planned for 2013

Famed Egyptian director, Khairy Beshara, has announced his plan to film a number of features about an undead Hosni Mubarak who wreaks havoc on his countrymen.  The first in the horror series will be Curse of Mubarak The Mummy: A New Arab Awakening.

“I got the idea while I was staring into Mubarak’s cage: What will happen if he dies during his trial? There will be no justice,” says Beshara, who promises justice will be served in full force in the movies.

Producers are already in talks with legendary Hollywood Egyptian film star, Omar Sharif, who could play the title role.

“Problem is, we’ve got to get [Omar Sharif] on board soon. He’s no spring falcon,” says Beshara, referring to Sharif’s advancing age.

Beshara expects his big budget blockbuster to be ready in time for the 2013 Cannes International Film Festival. Mubarak is currently on trial in Egypt. The withering ex-dictator is accused of a slew of nasty things.

Tales From the Script: The Plot of Mubarak The Mummy

The former ‘pharaoh’ of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak, dies before receiving justice for his crimes. To prevent angry mobs from finding and desecrating Mubarak’s final resting site, the Egyptian military hides his corpse in an unmarked crypt.

2,000 years later, an unenlightened American idiot archaeologist (Brendan Fraser) accidentally discovers the ex-dictator’s sarcophagus. During the drive back to the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, something goes horribly wrong. Mubarak’s mummified remains go missing…

The people of Egypt, now one of the world’s most vibrant and diverse democracies, are once again forced to unite against the reviled Hosni Mubarak. Tahrir Square is the familiar battleground.

Other movies planned for the series include: Return of Mubarak The Mummy (2014); Mubarak The Mummy vs. The Muslim Brotherhood (2014); Back to Mubarak The Mummy’s Tomb (2015)

  1. I know for a fact that this news is totally made up. First of all, Mr. Sean used the names of two distinguished and famous Egyptians inside the Arab world but also abroad (Khairy Beshara and Omar Sharif) and fabricated a story based on falsity. I truly doubt these two, knowing one personally, would even attempt to embark on such a tasteless project. Unfortunately, people like you Mr. Sean, distort reality, and can seriously damage the reputation of a person you don’t even know. Just for your fun. And even if this is a satirical article, I’d consider the people you mention and the topics you pick before writing this nonsense.

  2. I think this “satirical” article is absolutely tasteless and extremely rude. Mr. Sean, you have no permission to mock a legendary filmmaker like Khairy Beshara and no permission either! This is illegal and unfunny.

  3. This plan to make such a movie about Mr Mubarak is tasteless and disgusting. What is the sense in it? How would it be if young Omar, now 9, the President’s grandson were to see it? It would not be funny in the slightest. I think this plan should be dumped and the person concerned would be better occupied in writing something sensible that will not hurt the relations and friends of Mr Mubarak and indeed, Mr Mubarak himself, who, I trust will live in peace beyond 2013.
