A wife and mother of three grown-up children was left in deep shock yesterday morning after her husband changed his sandwich filling after 12 years.
Michigan resident Margaret Beesteak rose to her alarm at 7am, as usual, to find her husband getting ready for work.
“This was normal. Henry, always up with the sun, prepares his lunch, makes a light breakfast, then it’s off to work,” recounted Mrs. Beesteak, holding back tears.
It was when Mrs. Beesteak entered the kitchen that she found, to her horror, he was making a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich for lunch, or as it is otherwise known, a BLT.
“I just started shaking, I knew there must be something wrong, he’s been eating tinned ham sandwiches for 12 years,” we were told by an increasingly hysterical Mrs. Beesteak.
She told Glossy News that she immediately began accusing Mr. Beesteak of an illicit affair with a colleague at the paper mill where he works.
Mr. Beesteak quickly denied the claims and told his wife she was being unfair, he just fancied a change. “I shouted at him: ‘A change from what? From me?’”
Despite Mr. Beesteak’s attempts to calm his wife she phoned an ambulance.
“My rationale was that if he wasn’t having an affair then it must be a brain tumor. Bacon and lettuce and tomato were just too exotic for the Henry I know.”
Mr. Beesteak is currently undergoing tests to determine the cause of his sandwich filling change.
That photo has my mouth watering. Might have to hit up Dennys for a Super Bird.
