Snakes in the Grass… for Obama

MIAMI-A Burmese python found dead in the Florida Everglades has snake and political experts rattled.

A definitive square shape outlining the snake’s midsection led to an examination of stomach contents. Along with the remains of a raccoon, the python had ingested a Mitt Romney political sign, complete with wooden stake.

“Typically, pythons spend most of their time hidden in the underbrush,” reported park officials. “To find the animal along the highway is highly unusual.”

Pythons are carnivorous predatory creatures known to swallow deer and alligators whole. With the number of medium sized mammals indigenous to the Everglades decreased as much as 99%, experts attribute the snake’s travel along busy Alligator Alley to a hunt for food.

Florida Wildlife officers on the scene offered no comment when asked if the python might have been a stealth volunteer for a rival GOP campaign.

The Romney campaign issued a brief statement, stating that “…the elimination of predatory snakes in the grass–whether found in nature or in government–is a top priority of a Romney presidency.”

Spokespersons for Paul campaign declined requests for interview.
