Cooking with Barack: Lame Duck Stew

Even though this is called duck stew, critics of the administration are quick to point out that there is no duck involved.

It is only served at this specific time of year in Washington DC. It is not to everyone’s personal taste.

Thought to have been devised by President Lincoln’s chef in the 1860s, the ingredients have changed with each administration, reflecting the times. Teddy Roosevelt personally shot his own ingredients.

4 lb. young Student Loans, reformed
2 lb. Banking Regulations, coarsely-chopped
3 cups Strong FDA
2 sheets of Food Safety legislation gel
1 quart diluted 9/11 First Responders’ Bill
1 small case of Health Care
1 bottle of Russian newSTART dressing
a whisper of DADT, or to taste

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Place the reformed student loans in a large pot with the chopped banking regulations over medium heat. Stir to combine and allow to brown. In a separate bowl combine the strong FDA, the sheets of food safety gel and the diluted 9/11 first responders. Whisk this mixture until it is smooth, there can’t be any lumps here or the stew will grind to a halt. When

the loan and banking mix is nicely browned, add the FDA/food safety gel sauce and stir until all is combined. It should have a proper bipartisan sheen. Put the lid on the stew and place in the oven for the amount of time needed to start a filibuster, or 20 minutes if you are alone.

While the stew is baking, place the healthcare and newSTART in a separate pot. Bring to quick rolling boil and reduce by half over medium heat, about 15 minutes. Taste and add a whisper of DADT or up to a full gossip if you like. Pour the healthcare/newSTART into a serving bowl. Keep warm.

Remove the stew from the oven and adjust for seasoning. When seasoning is balanced, plate the stew and pass the healthcare as an option.

Amply serves a family of 4 for dinner with leftovers or 32 million as a snack.
