Given the attendant humiliation, usually reliable insiders are reluctant to discuss details. A woman answering the phone at RNC headquarters refused to identify herself, saying “I’m sorry, I can’t talk about it. There’s a gag order, my hands are tied.” This much is known; a Republican fundraiser submitted the Voyeur Club expense report as ‘meals.’
Media types showed no such reticence about what’s being called “Kinkygate.” Initial reaction was shock, due to the misperception DC’s famed “Make it look like a Business expense” Bistro had opened a California branch. Comments then quickly divided along partisan lines.
