Louie Season Two Fails to Deliver, Fat Boy

I bought season one on DVD, and I loved rewatching all the various episodes with commentary… but when season two came out, and I bought it, I was disgusted to find out that only five-episodes have commentary.

Louie is easily one of the funniest shows on television (though I’d still say the award-averse Always Sunny in Philadelphia is the funniest thing on the small screen,) but this DVD simply didn’t deliver.

Maybe Louis C.K. set expectations too high from his first season, but this second season simply didn’t do it. I paid good money and I didn’t get what I paid for.

I know you spend 1,000 hours to make every episode, so why can’t you invest another 30-minutes to add the commentary track? I mean, seriously, you want my money. Can’t you put in that last little bit of effort. We’re the hard-core fans, it would seem natural that you’d have to cater to us… but you don’t.

And Louie, if you’re reading this, contact me and let’s do an interview. We’ll call it redemption and I’ll give you all the props you deserve. I’m obviously a huge enough fan to listen to all the commentary, so get in touch and let’s do this. You deserve your redemption. I know the episodes inside out, and have all your stand-up… so at least you can be assured the interview would be interesting.

  1. When I buy a season on DVD I expect plenty of goodies. Deleted scenes and bloopers at the very least but also the commentaries. Yes, we watch them, stop saying we don’t. We do. Just tell us how you made your marvelous shows!

  2. Did you even read the article? It does have commentary, but only on 5 episodes. I knew that and I bought it anyway. I just wanted more.

  3. Accusing Louis CK of not catering to his ‘hard core’ of fans is silly. If you only wanted the DVD for the commentary you should have checked before you bought it.

And Louis CK will not be reading this ‘review’, and if he did I’m certain he wouldn’t see any benefit from contacting you for an interview…
