After graduating high school, Michael made a promise to himself that he would cut off the soles of his shoes, live in a tree, and learn to play the flute. Well, the flute thing didn't quite pan out... *ahem*... but he did become an accomplished bassist. So, having brought about the realization of all three, he has since added to his list of accomplishments a fruitful musical career, and now writes part time from his palatial tree in southern Minnesota.
