Grand Isle, LA (GlossyNews) –A team of marine biologists recovered 120 specimens of wild life from the rapidly spreading oil spill off the coast of Louisiana Wednesday.
The team, comprised of staff and students from several Gulf Coast universities, volunteered to assist clean-up efforts while studying environmental impacts. While cleaning feathers and fur with dish detergent, Anne Fullerton, a student at Southern University in Baton Rouge, discovered what turned out to be a Mexican attempting to enter the U.S. illegally.
“At first, we thought he was a seal lion. He was a portly fellow, hairy, with large feet. He seemed grateful to be free of the oil coating, and will be moved to a temporary habitat in Arizona.”, said Fullerton.
According to Fullerton, the Mexican, named Alonzo, was resting after his ordeal and not available for comment. Fullerton explained Alonzo attempted the swim after the Arizona crossing became too risky.
As the environmental crisis expands, biologists expect to find more Mexicans. Dr. Jan Crosby, of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association, is concerned about wide-spread, long term impact.
“These incidents will not be limited to Mexicans,” predicts Crosby. “We fully expect to find Cubans, Haitians, and eventually even Nicaraguans. Weeks, years this disaster will eventually lead to the ‘Dawning’ of a wide range of immigrants.”
Why, no I don’t Rev. But he looks as though he could use a nice cold puddin’ pop.
I”m impressed. Do you know WHERE the sea lion in that picture is actually from?
P.S. But I can definitely see a resemblance to a sea lion.
Umm, by the looks of the pic, you may have the Mexican part wrong. 🙂
