Dead Woman In Chair Watches TV For 42 years

ZAGREB, Croatia (Glossy News) – We’re not sure what was on TV in 1966 in the former Yugoslavia, but it must have been so terrible that a woman died while viewing it, and her remains have only recently been found.

The body of Hedviga Golik, who was born in 1924, was discovered by police in the Croatian capital of Zagreb, long-dead and sitting in her armchair in front of her black-and-white television. A bowl of moldy popcorn sitting on the table next to her.

The deceased had been reported missing 42 years ago, and neighbors say they thought she had moved away to live with relatives. Oddly though, the police only recently broke in to try to determine who owned the apartment and they still have not figured out how the woman could have been reported missing so long ago without anyone checking the residence.

Reportedly, there were over 700 lbs of un-opened mail that had been passed through the mail slot and partially blocked the door from opening. Police aren’t sure how many of them were late rent notices.

“When the officers went there, they said it was like stepping into a place frozen in time,” a police spokesman said. “The popcorn was still on a table next to the chair she had been sitting in … Nothing had been disturbed for decades, even though there were more than a few cobwebs in there. Even the 1950s era TV was still on… turned to a Russian channel playing wrestling matches!”

The local coroner suspects the high degree of body preservation might have been attributed to re-runs of the American TV show, The Dukes of Hazard, as a method of preserving the dessicated carcass.

A neighbor, Anna Goldiz, age 77, fittingly remembered Golik, “She was a really quiet woman who kept to herself. Yes, she loved to watch Russian wrestling matches on TV and drink orange-flavored vodka.”

Golik will be finally buried on Tuesday, along with her chair and TV.

  1. Our Sister Hedviga asks us to say:
"After I turned ghost (spirit), I had joys!
    I had a lot of sadness. I had a transformation. "
He asked to stop relaying this information, which is only giving sorrows in people.
God bless you all. Marcos Stedile.
