First off it should be noted that it is very hard to get into that bottom right corner sponsor area. It sees more traffic than anything on the site and likewise garners more clicks than anything else. I've had literally hundreds of sites ask to be in there, but ultimately very few make the cut. Why? I think it's because very few have what it takes to be true sponsors.
Glossy News gets 500,000 to 800,000 page views a month, almost every one of those pages has the sponsors listed. Our traffic has yet to plateua, but is still growing, some months steadily, some months by leaps and bounds. If you're serious about tapping in to that sort of exposure, then by all means read on.
What does your site have to offer? We could really use:
A new digital camera,
A new laptop or desktop computer,
DSL or cable modem,
TiVo,
Travel,
Something for my son?
Huge amounts of traffic? (don't just say it, prove it.)
Free smokes, liquor or medication?

Cash? As of writing this we've never accepted cash for a sponsorship link, though that doesn't mean it's out of the question. If this is what you have to offer, then by all means, make me that offer.
When you tell me what you have to offer, we can negotiate how long you want to be listed as a sponsor. It's a tough spot to get to, as I never allow more than ten sponsors at any given time. That means the clicks you'll get are many and well deserved.
If your company doesn't believe in the value of being a sponsor, might I suggest buying a front page link instead. They are much cheaper and just as good to a search engine. You won't see the same kind of "real visitor" traffic you would from sponsorship, but they are priced accordingly.
