Satire Syndication and Reprints

Whether you're a large, mainstream media outlet or a new and promising web publisher, we may no less be in a position to help one another in spreading the good word, albeit a satirical one (and dare I say even a fake one at that.) Almost all of our articles are available for reprint; most are already explicitly permitted, but some have licenses which require 48-hour verification. Some, sadly are simply unavailable (as there are those pieces on Glossy News upon which we do not control exclusive rights.) Just let us know which piece you're asking about and we'll gladly verify it as quickly as possible.

If you are interested in reprinting any of our articles to your print publication, please email us and let me know:

  • which article,
  • the name of your publication,
  • your circulation, and
  • your proposed terms of payment.
  • Please know that at a minimum the authors name must appear as a byline and the article must be credited as "courtesy of GlossyNews.com" at the end.

If an article is run in any print publication without prior permission, a fee of $900 will be charged for articles which were available at time of publication and $3,900 for articles for which permission was unavailable. These fees are designed to offset our costs of investigating claims of intellectual property theft and the inherently high costs of pursuing remuneration for said theft, as well as compensating the author, publisher and copyright holders.

If you run a web publication and are interested in the purchase of content to reprint to your site or a content swap, don't hesitate to contact us. In many cases of non-commercial publication we are willing to allow the reprint of select articles without pay, provided certain conditions are met.

If you run a commercial site (for-profit), we may still be able to provide content for you, as we have almost 2,000 articles in our archives to date, so contact us and tell us what you propose.

    In contacting us, please let us know;

  • which article, articles or series you have in mind,
  • the name of your publication and web address,
  • your unique visitors and page hits, and
  • your proposed compensation.
  • Please know that at a minimum the authors name must appear as a byline and the article must be credited as "courtesy of GlossyNews.com", with GlossyNews.com as a hyperlink pointing back to http://www.glossynews.com.

As with the print edition, if any article is run on any web site without prior permission, a fee of $900 will be charged for articles which were available at time of publication and $3,900 for articles for which permission was unavailable. These fees are designed to offset our costs of investigating claims of intellectual property theft and the inherently high costs of pursuing remuneration for said theft, as well as compensating the author, publisher and copyright holders.

If you are unclear as to how these rules are applied, please consult with an attorney regardling matters pertaining to the unauthorized theft and usage of intellectual property. There is no implied consent, you must have express, prior, written consent to republish our articles in part or in whole. Failure to obtain that may end up costing you very dearly. We are not unreasonable, but many, many, many of our articles have been stolen without compensation nor gratitude by persons and companies, and it has cost us a fortune in both lost revenues and material costs associated with protecting our copyrights.

    Sincerely,

    Brian K. White
    Editor
