Romney Admits He Doesn’t Care About YOU

Mitt Romney was caught on a secret recording making shocking statements that are already legendary. That he doesn’t care about the 141 million people that don’t pay federal income tax.

These people still pay taxes on the whole, many of them at a rate higher than Romney’s laughable 13.9%. In Mississippi food is subject to sales tax, but you won’t see those Jesus-thumpers jumping ship any time soon.

So who are these people that Mitt Romney doesn’t care about?

Well statistically, they’re red-staters, but we’ll get to that later. First let’s look at who they are in broader terms.

Mitt Romney doesn’t care about:

– Retired people
– The disabled
– Students
– The unemployed
– The working poor

Some of those come as no surprise. We already know how Mitt Romney feels about the disabled and the working poor, they can go flip another burger and then jump into a ravine.

The unemployed are, as Mitt Romney suggested, encouraged to just borrow money from their parents to finance their way through college or into a private business. Sure, that makes sense for Joe Everyman.

But his distaste for retired persons living on the very Social Security they paid into their whole careers is truly callous.

We have veterans of World War 2, Korea and Vietnam who used the GI Bill, then worked an entire career, then retired with a military pension, Social Security and perhaps a combination of Medicare and Medicaid… and he admits he won’t represent them.

And why hate on students? Aren’t they bootstrappy enough? They pay more in tuition than any generation before them, and they can no longer pay their tuition by working alone.

These are all the moocher class in his strange fantasy world, since they comprise the 47% that pay no federal taxes.

But the bigger question is, where do these non-tax-paying sorts live? It turns out they are in red states, as this chart shows.

And it gets even worse. It’s more than that individuals who require the most funding are also the most likely to vote Republican, but the states themselves are also more likely to be welfare states.

Take a look at this chart. It shows the states ranked according to how much federal taxes they pay versus how much federal money they receive. Notice once again that the red states, those that support the supposedly fiscally conservative Republicans, are the biggest welfare recipients in the nation.

Seniors living from hand-to-mouth (no, not ass-to-mouth, sorry) on Social Security overwhelming support Mitt Romney, but he admits that he doesn’t represent them. They are “victims” looking for a hand out. That’s the world in which Mitt Romney lives.

And in case you didn’t already see the detestable quote in question, spoken in confidence at a private, no-press-allowed, $50,000/plate fundraiser, here it is:

“There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what ….These are people who pay no income tax.” Mitt Romney.

And if you don’t believe the quote (I know, it’s pretty unthinkable for a man running for president, am I right?) here is the video of him actually saying it.

But the truly mind-bottling* aspect of it is that Mitt Romney is himself among the 47%, at least according to his own admission.

Anyone making less than $250,000/year that votes for Mitt Romney is voting against his or her own best interest. He does not represent the best interest of the people. He only represents the best interest of his own people. The people who own NASCAR teams, the people who get huge tax write-offs for dancing horses, and the billionaires who fund his SuperPAC, hoping for a billion or so back as a rebate.
